Historical Avanti guidance listed 64 MB as the minimum memory for OpenVMS V8.3. The current 5.1.0 compatibility evidence does not test that boundary, so 64 MB is not a newly qualified minimum. Configure memory according to the documentation and workload requirements for the exact OpenVMS kit, and use more than the historical minimum unless a controlled low-memory installation is specifically required.
