Avanti can map a Windows COM device to a virtual serial port. The mapping path and settings are source-backed, but the current compatibility evidence did not exercise arbitrary physical adapters or attached devices. Confirm that the COM device exists, is not in use by another process, and works with its Windows driver before assigning it. See Serial Ports: OPA0/tty00 – TTA0/tty01 for the mapping procedure.

Note:Match baud rate, data bits, parity, stop bits, and flow control at both ends. Historical reports associated mismatched settings with an apparently hung port, but that exact failure signature was not reproduced in the 5.1.0 validation.
