PuTTY stores saved session settings under the current user's Windows registry profile. The following Regedit procedure is retained as historical migration guidance; it has not been executed across the complete supported Windows range for Avanti 5.1.0.
Close PuTTY, back up the destination user's existing PuTTY registry key, open Command Prompt (cmd.exe) as the source user, and run the following command there. The percent-delimited environment-variable syntax is for Command Prompt, not PowerShell:
regedit /e "%userprofile%\Desktop\putty-registry.reg" "HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\SimonTatham\PuTTY"
Confirm that putty-registry.reg was created on the source user's desktop and inspect it before transfer. Copy it to the destination system without treating it as trusted input merely because it has a .reg extension.
While signed in as the intended destination user, close PuTTY and use Regedit's Merge action on the reviewed file. Importing changes that user's registry and may overwrite saved sessions with matching names; it is not an additive-only operation. Start PuTTY and verify the imported sessions before deleting either registry backup.
