Avanti is a normal Windows application and is expected to run in a virtual machine whose guest operating system and assigned resources meet Avanti's Windows host requirements. No particular hypervisor is required.

Virtual networking can require additional hypervisor configuration. The virtual switch and host adapter must accept frames for the emulated NIC's MAC address; promiscuous mode, forged-transmit acceptance, or MAC spoofing may be required. Follow the applicable networking notes in this guide when the guest cannot communicate through the virtualized adapter.
