Npcap is preferred when multiple Avanti instances share one host. Normally attach each emulated NIC directly to the same physical adapter. Each emulated NIC still requires a unique MAC address, as described in NIC and Multiple Avanti Instances and MAC Addressing. To avoid clashes with other networking equipment or automatically generated virtual NIC MAC addresses, it is recommended that manually assigned addresses start with C6-00-00.

With MsiPcap, direct attachment to one physical adapter can carry traffic beyond the Windows host while traffic between the local emulators remains unavailable. If same-host guest-to-guest communication is required, follow MsiPcap TAP Bridging: create a separate TAP adapter for each emulator and place those TAP adapters in one Windows Network Bridge. Do not attach multiple emulators to one shared TAP adapter.

Note: The MAC address field will not accept an invalid MAC address.  Trying to type or cut and paste an invalid MAC address will result in nothing being entered in the MAC address box.
