If a guest configuration contains a NIC that should remain visible but must not pass traffic, assign that NIC to Dummy network. For example, if EWA and EWB are defined but only EWB is used, EWA can remain present as a disconnected emulated card while EWB is assigned to a host adapter. This can preserve guest adapter naming and order during migration, but it does not prove that the guest network configuration needs no changes; verify the guest interfaces and startup files.
Dummy network stores the reserved disconnected adapter value, creates no packet backend, and does not connect the NIC to the host, an external network, or another virtual NIC. Select a real host adapter when traffic is required.
