At the SRM console prompt, configure an OpenVMS system disk for automatic boot as follows. Replace DKA0 with the actual system-disk device when necessary.
>>> SET AUTO_ACTION BOOT
>>> SET BOOT_OSFLAGS 0
>>> SET BOOTDEF_DEV DKA0
>>> EXIT
EXIT closes Avanti cleanly and writes the console variables to the configuration's NVRAM file. The next launch uses the saved device and flags and boots automatically. This sequence has been validated with the exact curated OpenVMS V7.0 KZPAA system; it is standard SRM configuration guidance rather than qualification of every OpenVMS release or system-disk layout.
