data (new configurations: <base>.toy)
Full path to the TOY image file. This file replaces the Time-Of-Year RAM on a legacy Alpha, storing configuration settings such as Time-of-Year and the time offset between the host system and the virtual Alpha. The Configuration Utility expands <base> to the path and filename under which the configuration is saved, without its .cfg extension. Keep a separate TOY file for each configuration.
On first launch, the TOY file does not yet exist; Avanti reports a warning and starts with uninitialized clock state. After the guest initializes or changes that state, a controlled emulator exit writes the file. An unwritable path reports an error and the updated TOY state is not preserved. If a hand-edited configuration omits data entirely, the emulator instead uses the relative fallback toy.bin; specify a fully qualified per-configuration path rather than relying on that process-working-directory fallback.
Runtime-only compatibility setting
A hand-edited runtime configuration may contain shadow_on_disk. Its default true value eagerly prepares the emulator's instruction-shadow representation for code loaded from disk; false disables only that eager optimization. It does not change disk or TOY contents. The Configuration Utility does not recognize this runtime-only property and cannot open a configuration that contains it. Leave the property absent to use the true default, or remove an explicit value before opening the configuration in the utility.
